Ishwati Emoyeni Wind Farm

ACED role:

Late-stage development, leading financial close workstreams covering development, PPA negotiation, procurement, EPC and O&M negotiations, government & stakeholder interaction and arranging equity and debt financing.

Location:

Ishwati is located in the Bedford area of the Eastern Cape Province and will consist of 32 Vestas V163-4.5MW turbines which will connect to the national grid via Eskom’s Gamma Main Transmission Substation.

IPP:

Ishwati Emoyeni Wind Farm (RF) (Pty) Ltd – the shareholders are AIIM, through the IDEAS Fund, and the Reatile Group (Pty) Ltd with Standard Bank as sole Mandated Lead Arranger for the project.

Capacity:

A 25-year power purchase agreement has been signed with NOA Trading Group for the supply of 140MW wind powered renewable energy. This is the first scale renewable energy project in South Africa to be signed with an energy trader.

Status:

The project is under construction and is scheduled to be fully operational in Q4 2026.
